M & D Whitham and the Sawtooth Pyrenean Shepherds Circle the Big Lake

We started with the Tall Ship Fest in Duluth, then headed to the Upper Peninsula to hike in Tahquamenon Falls State Park, where one of our girls performed tricks and was a wonderful ambassador for our little French breed of Shepherd. We visited the Whitefish Point Lighthouse and Shipwreck Museum. Then a side trip to visit a friend in Quebec who has cancer, and family in Ontario, then back to More

Lake Superior Circle Tour

We have a truck camper and traveled counterclockwise around the Lake beginning at Sault Ste. Marie, (enjoyed the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre there). We figured we would begin with Canada since we had never been there before and were most excited to see that portion and Minnesota. We traveled the first 2 weeks of August 2019 and had the nicest weather possible, very little wind, calm water, and no bugs. More

Perfect Anniversary Trip

For my wife’s 50th birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary (both in August of this year), we built a teardrop camper and set off clockwise on a 6-day Lake Superior Circle Tour. It was a great trip, beautiful weather and amazing memories. A few highlights: 1. By far the best spot for us was kayaking in Pukaskwa National Park, Ontario. Going from Hattie Cove out into the bay was spectacular. More

Our Lake Superior Circle Camping Trip

We began in Toronto, north to Algonquin Provincial Park on July 13, then to Killarney Provincial Park (strictly speaking Georgian Bay, but gorgeous), past Sault Ste. Marie to Rabbit Blanket campground in Lake Superior Provincial Park. Absolutely fantastic sights and great hiking! And between the thunderstorms the weather was brilliant! Next we camped at Pukaskwa National Park for wild and beautiful vistas. Bald eagles on a tree over our tent More

Overlooks at Pukaskwa Were the Best in the Whole Trip

My wife and I recently finished the Lake Superior Circle Tour for our Honeymoon on July 7 and we would like to receive our certificates from your organization. Our favorite spots to visit were in Michigan and Canada. The Michigan stops included Krupp’s Resort in Michigan where they served Blue Moon ice cream (my personal favorite) and the Keweenaw Peninsula where the driving was beautiful. We also enjoyed watching the More

A Very Beautiful Trip

We really enjoy your magazine and this year we did the Circle Tour, something we’ve been going to do for a long time! So we decided to go clockwise, starting in Michigan. We tent camped most of the way and stayed with friends in Ashland, Wisconsin. We had our kayaks along and our friends had their canoe. We met interesting people in every place we stopped! We started on August More

We Camped on Our Trip

My dog and I just completed the circle tour in 12 wonderful days. It was supposed to be a trip with my Mother as well but she passed away last spring and so I decided to do it in memory of her. Start date: August 15, end date: August 26. Our trip started with a dog agility show in Thunder Bay and then we also spent a few days with More

The Entire Trip Was a Blast

We traveled clockwise around Lake Superior starting on September 3, 2012, and finishing on September 8. We started in Northern Wisconsin, and took the Highway 13 loop to see Bayfield and the Apostle Islands. Stopped at several state parks on the north shore of Minnesota and camped at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. Spent three days in Canada, camping at Sleeping Giant, Neys and Lake Superior provincial parks. Also stopped More
