Some Highlights

Some highlights: Red Rock, south of Nipigon, ON; scenery in the Pancake Bay area; Kakabeka Falls has a great farm store; saw two moose by Marathon; ate at Bight in Thunder Bay. Favorite thing to do: The Pictured Rocks cruise! Even when the weather wasn’t that great – it was terrific! Tip: bring a 200-foot extension cord with you to the provincial park campsites. You’ll need it! Kay Osborne, St. More

It Was an Awesome Trip!

We would like to join the Circle Tour Club! We left St. Louis, Missouri, on June 22 and just returned home today on July 5. We drove almost exactly 3,000 miles and our stops were: Porcupine Mountains: two nights, camped, hiked. Munising: three nights, stayed in a rental property. Pictured Rocks cruise, waterfalls, bikes on Grand Island. Pancake Bay Provincial Park: three nights, stayed in yurts on beach, great fishing. More

Enjoyed Every Minute

My wife and I, accompanied by our dog, Tyler, did the Circle Tour from September 4 through September 14, 2013, and enjoyed every minute of it. Highlights for us included the High Falls on the Pigeon River, Kakabeka Falls, Fort William Historical Park, Ouimet Canyon, gourmet dining, including a fabulous dessert, at the Serendipity Gardens Café in Rossport, Aguasabon Falls and Canyon, another fantastic dinner at Kinniwabi International Cuisine in More

Two Seniors in a Sporty Car

Hi, my friend Pat Eichler (from Florida) and I (from Wisconsin) finished the Lake Superior Circle Tour on August 7, 2013. We took my 2002 Chrysler Sebring Convertible to do the tour, and we had a fabulous time – two senior citizens in a sporty car on an adventure! We loved stopping at the many lake overviews on Hwy. 61 north of Duluth, MN, and the various waterfalls along the More

Many Favorite and Memorable Spots

I joined a group of 20 women to bicycle around Lake Superior. Our tour, arranged by the company WomanTours, which began and ended in Duluth, Minnesota, was scheduled for July 8 to August 2, 2013. Our first actual day of bicycling was July 9th and our last day of riding was August 1st. We began by traveling east with our first stop being Bayfield, Wisconsin. After that we spent 11 days More

Advice to Others

Went on the Circle Tour July 14th through July 22nd. The best things were: the people along the way and the Pictured Rocks Boat Tour. The worst is: the Travel Guide is tattered! Best damn thing! Advice to others: Add a day or pick a day and SIT and DO NOTHING. We wish we had instead of go, go, go. James & Pat Anderson, Brainerd, Minnesota

Beautiful Ride

What a beautiful ride! Will do the trip again! In August 1988, we decided to circle Lake Superior a few months after our wedding. We took our old rusty Cavalier, spent over a week, taking our time, and camping along the lakeshore. In July 2013, we decided to circle the great lake again, as part of our 25th anniversary tours. This time we did it on motorcycles. In an earlier More

Our Best Experiences

We recently completed the Lake Superior Circle Tour by car as a married couple. June 18 through June 26 were the dates, start to finish, of our adventure. Our best experiences were as follows: The Pictured Rocks Cruise at Munising, Michigan. The mineral-stained cliffs were awe-inspiring with Mother Nature at her best! The boat tour provided us with up-close views at eye level as well as a verbal geological lesson More

The Most Impressive Thing

Terry & I finished doing the Circle Tour with our truck pulling a Pop-Up Camper Trailer. September 25, 2012 – We began our trip from our home in Ham Lake, Minnesota, with our first stop (N/N) being Porcupine State Park. This is a beautiful Park and we had an excellent campsite. September 26 – Then on to the Keweenaw Peninsula which proved to be very interesting. We overnighted at F.J. More

We’re Hooked!

Favorite spots and experiences: We spent almost 5 weeks traveling around Lake Superior in our little motorhome with our Springer spaniel, Polly. We’re hooked! Lake Superior really gets to you. Marc’s favorite spot was Pukaskwa National Park on the east side of the lake. The hiking there was spectacular, with views of the lake that reminded him of his home state of Maine. I liked Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, for More
