We Took 15 Days

My husband, Bob, and I took 15 days to do the Circle Tour so that we could explore some of the beautiful parks along the way. We went from Aug. 28 to Sept. 11 and spent from 1-3 nights in each place which worked out for our exploring. The Discovery Charter Cruise was wonderful. The captain has lots of history which he shares and he seems really happy about sharing More

It Was a Positive Trip by Motorcycle

I departed Sault Ste. Marie, Canada, crossing the border into Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, at 7 a.m. on Aug. 19, 2014. I chose to travel in a clockwise manner because I had done the northern portion from Thunder Bay to Sault numerous times and wanted to see the southern shores of Lake Superior. I thoroughly enjoyed the travel when the road was closest to the water. The high points of More

Loved This Trip!

Hi! Our family wants to join the Circle Tour Club! We traveled clockwise, from Duluth to Duluth starting Aug. 9 and ending Aug. 16. There were four people in our group: me (age 41), my husband (age 42), and our daughter (11) and son (7). We camped four nights (Rainbow Falls Provincial Park in Rossport, Agawa Bay in Lake Superior Provincial Park, Bay Furnace near Munising, MI, and Fort Wilkins State More

Everything I Had Dreamed Of

I completed the circle tour by vehicle, specifically in my Jeep Cherokee, in 2014. I started by driving through Wisconsin. I made it to the north shore and found Cornucopia. This little town will forever be in my top favorite destinations. I found it by accident as the road I was on turned into a detour due to construction. There was a motel on the corner and next to it, More

Put It on Your Bucket List

We started out in Minnesota on July 11, 2014, and stopped at Gooseberry Falls for some pictures and a break. We then proceeded to Thunder Bay, Ontario, and stayed in a hotel for the evening. We took lots of pictures along the way. And the scenery was great. The next day we went to an amethyst mine and purchased a couple of items which is nice and got some more pictures. More

Overlooks at Pukaskwa Were the Best in the Whole Trip

My wife and I recently finished the Lake Superior Circle Tour for our Honeymoon on July 7 and we would like to receive our certificates from your organization. Our favorite spots to visit were in Michigan and Canada. The Michigan stops included Krupp’s Resort in Michigan where they served Blue Moon ice cream (my personal favorite) and the Keweenaw Peninsula where the driving was beautiful. We also enjoyed watching the More

Riding Around the Lake

My brother and I recently completed the Lake Superior Circle Tour this season. We spent June 20-23, 2014, traveling clockwise around the lake. I was on a 2006 Yamaha FZ6 and he rode a 2003 Honda ST 1100. As far as motorcycle riding goes, a full rain suit is a must, along with a few different tints of safety glasses, earplugs and gloves with extended cuffs. When crossing the border More

The Magic of a Colorful Autumn Circle Drive

On October 23, 2013, my family completed the Circle Tour of Lake Superior. We had so many favorite spots and experiences, but the best include seeing the many waterfalls along the tour (I had no idea there would be so many!), eating at Tycoon’s in Duluth (great Whitefish), Dunc Lake near White River, Ontario, provided a great sunset while we stayed at Gloria’s Motel (which had a beautiful view of More

Our Second Fall Trip

We just returned from our second fall trip around the Lake! Both times we went counterclockwise, taking 6-7 days. A week is not really long enough to see all great things along the way, but we have tried to visit new places with each trip. We were most surprised with all the hills in Ontario. We went the last week of September each time and the variability of color was More
