Best 2 week vacation we’ve ever had!

Our most memorable vacation ever! We found friendly people living all around the lake. It’s difficult to pick out a favorite spot, but I guess mine was seeing the spherical rocks of the lakeshore near Terrace Bay. Rita’s favorite was the walking suspension bridges of Eagle Canyon. We will be making that trip again soon! Paul Kamps & Rita Gahagan, Middleton, WI

Touring in the Rain

We decided to wait until October in hopes of seeing good color. Mostly what we saw, was rain. Oh wait! One day it snowed. We started our trip off in Roscommon, MI, about 100 miles south of the Mackinac Bridge. When we entered into the UP heading west, it was a downpour and a major road detour with lots of traffic. We made our way west and then headed north More

What a thrill!

We started at Sault Ste. Marie in Michigan and went clockwise. Our first night we stayed at the lighthouse at Whitefish Point. It was lots of fun staying the the quarters of the crew! Then we proceeded on to Munising. Disappointed that our cruise was rained out, but made up for it by going to the Quincy Copper Mine on our way up to our next stop in Copper Harbor. More

Our Retirement Celebration Fall Tour

We set out on a cool and rainy fall day, Oct. 1, for the 300 mile trek to Duluth to begin our retirement celebration vacation. Being a teacher, I never had the opportunity to take an extended trip in the fall and I love the beautiful fall foliage so this was a trip I had been yearning for! I also love waterfalls so that was my “goal” – to hike, More

Our tour

We traveled relatively quickly circled in just 5 days. Loved the fall colors and beautiful scenery. We even saw 2 moose between Wawa and Marathon. Eric, Denise and Justin Arthur, Hammond, WI

Memorable Trip with Friends

Four adults, two dogs, two campers, a Jeep and a truck. That was the formula for the most memorable trip we have ever had. Started in Grand Marais, MI driving clockwise with stops everywhere. Three weeks was the ideal time for us and we ended in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. We found that the Lake Superior Travel Guide magazine had perfect suggestions, from where to stay to places to eat. More

1500 miles + 6 nights + 3 states + 2 countries + 1 province = countless September Superior views!

Growing up in the Detroit Metro area, we went on many trips Up North including visits to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The past 30 years we’ve lived in the Twin Cities, and have explored the spectacular State Parks along Minnesota’s North Shore. This fall we decided to circle the whole lake, focusing on our previously uncharted territories! The Lake Superior Travel Guide, with editor and reader suggestions for almost each mile More
