I traveled the lake this past July with a new friend. We did the trip in one week and camped every night. I really liked Thunder Bay. It was a beautiful city, with music, art, and good food and drinks. We stopped at many breweries along the way. One that was particularly unique was in Grand Marais, MN because you could sit on the roof and enjoy your beer while More
As something to do that we could spend some quality time together, my wife and I set out to see all the lighthouses around the lake. We have done the Lake Michigan tour and decided to give Lake Superior a try. Weather was perfect and just the start of colors of fall. Thomas Gscheidle, Wonder Lake IL
I didn’t think about Fall Colors when I planned this trip. Saw some color on the Keeweenau Peninsula, but that’s the only place. Enjoyed revisiting the South Shore and Sault Ste. Marie. The Canadian Bushpilot Heritage Center in the Sault Ste. Marie, Canada, is an awesome place for plane enthusiasts. The best views of the Big Lake were on the North Shore where I spend my summers.
We took our tour counterclockwise starting in Iron River. We took the Ale tour, making sure to (safely) stop at each brewery as we made our way around the lake. Weather was cold but the colors were vibrant! By the time we were in Canada bus tours filled with tourists were traveling along the coast to get a peek at the peak colors. The Ale tour was strong until we More
We did this trip for our 40th wedding anniversary. We had a great time in a small RV.
Loved the contrast of the two Grand Marais’. Dick & Penny Vokes, Harbor Springs, MI
We just finished our first Circle Tour, with overnight stops in Duluth, Grand Marais, Thunder Bay, Marathon, Wawa, Sault Ste. Marie, Marquette and Ashland. We enjoyed the fall colors, waterfalls, and nature. Perhaps our favorite day was spent in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and the entire Upper Peninsula was amazing. Dan Dvorak & Matt Wenz, Plymouth, MN
We traveled from 9/9/18 – 9/19/18 via motorcycle and loved the trip! Especially Wawa and Agawa Canyon. We also stopped at the Circle Tour Headquarter in Duluth! Deborah Decker & Robert Clark Camden, NJ
We decided to allow two weeks so we could do everything we wanted and that was plenty of time. We took our 33′ fifth wheel trailer and were worried about campgrounds due to fall colors, but had no issues finding a spot to camp. There were a few campgrounds that closed Labor Day so I did do some calling ahead once we were close. I did not pre-book camp sites. More
We traveled clockwise around the lake, starting in Munising, MI. We then traveled west to Duluth, MN, entered Canada and stayed in Thunder Bay. We then traveled to Terrace Bay, Wawa, and Sault Ste. Marie. We backtracked a little after that to hit the Tahquamenon Falls before voyaging back around east side of Lake Michigan. We loved the fall color and it even snowed on us in Wawa! The lake More
