We started our tour in Duluth, MN on September 10, 2019, after spending the evening at the Fitger’s Inn and dinner at the Pickwick Restaurant. We traveled along North Shore Drive (US61) visiting Split Rock Lighthouse and Grand Portage. We spent the night in Thunder Bay, ON. While there we visited Fort William and Kakabeka Falls, and then traveled to Wawa, ON. In Wawa, we visited the large goose statue and the Scenic High Falls. On the 12th we traveled to Sault Ste. Marie, MI and the Soo Locks. We then took a side trip to Mackinac Island. On September 14 we returned to the Circle Tour visiting the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point and traveled to Munising, MI. We opted not to take a Pictured Rocks boat tour due to morning fog. We did see the Munising Falls. On the 15th we traveled to Copper Harbor and saw the northern beginning and end of US41, then traveled to Houghton, MI for the evening. On September 16 we traveled to Bayfield, WI where we had a lovely lunch on an elevated patio overlooking the Apostle Islands. We then completed the tour by returning to Duluth and spending the night at the Inn on Lake Superior and dinner at Grandma’s. On the 17th we returned Des Moines, IA via I35. We had a fantastic tour around Lake Superior.
