Without a doubt there is no better lake route than to circumnavigate Lake Superior. We managed to start in Sault St. Marie and navigate counter clockwise through many interesting towns and stopping points. The North shore is very scenic, capped off by the hills surrounding Thunder Bay–wow. Our trip through Duluth brought us to the history of that area. The Legend of the Edmund Fitzgerald looms large in this area. We really should have planned to spend more time on the south shore as it is charming and Marquette is not to be missed.
