We started in Duluth, MN and ended in Ontonagon, MI. Or favorite stops in Minnesota were Two Harbors, Beaver Bay and Gooseberry Falls. The Ontario section of the trip included beautiful scenery. We stopped at the Diamond Willow Amethyst Mine just after a rain and found plenty of jewels. We enjoyed our dinner at the Serendipity Gardens Cafe in Rossport. White River, birthplace of Winnie the Pooh, was an educational stop since we didn’t know the background. One of our favorite spots was WaWa where we had a very nice, charming and comfortable stay at the Mystic Isle. We also visited the Tourist information center and the goose, Silver Falls, Sandy Beach, and shopped at Young’s General Store. In Michigan, we watched lake freighters lock through from Lake Superior to Lake Huron Sault Ste. Marie. The boat trip at Pictured Rocks in Munising was a highlight of the trip. Lakenland between Munising and Marquette is a unique thought provoking place to see. In Calumet we saw more interesting scenery along Brockway Mountain Drive on the Keweenaw Peninsula. We truly enjoyed the trip!
