Around the Lake in Seven Days

Beautiful weather, beautiful scenery, and most importantly, beautiful lake. Traveled the west, north and east sides of the lake on the 2010 trip. Just finished the southern portion last month. Would like to do it again with camping gear instead of motels, more stops for local activities, and more hiking. Thomas and Marcia McCormick, Two Harbors, MN

4Runner loop!

We began at mackinaw bridge, continued north into Canada, then looped west and all around the lake! S & D Card, Pickerington, OH

2018 Adventure

We started in Sault Ste Marie Canada ending in Marquette, MI. We traveled the UP extensively for many years so the South shore was very familiar to us. The North shore from Wawa to Thunder Bay was amazing. Breathtaking views at every turn of the road. Need to do it again with more time. Amy & Gregg Neale, Oxford, MI

Love Lake Superior

Started in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada and the scenery was overwhelmingly beautiful. It was nothing we had expected and immediately wished we planned for more time. Everywhere we went we ran into nice, friendly, and helpful people. Looking forward to doing the trip again. Gregg and Amy Neale, Oxford, MI

Awesome Road Trip

We did the Circle Route in a Counterclockwise direction. The friendliest welcome was from the entire staff of the Towne Place Suites in Thunder Bay. They all made us feel at home. Surprised us the most??? The delicious tree ripened peaches from an orchard between Red Cliff and Bayfield. Foraging for wild blueberries and raspberries in a secret location between Wawa and Rossport. The closure of the Trans Canadian Highway, More

Boondocking in a Travel Trailer

I have joked that my husband and I need practice before we retire. The Circle Tour was our first extended trip with our newly acquired travel trailer – a 22-foot self-contained unit that we pulled with our pickup truck. We set aside three weeks in August, starting in Minneapolis and traveling clockwise. Our first day included several stops along the North Shore with a final stop at Gooseberry Falls State More

Wow! What a trip!

We started in Sault Ste. Marie and went around the lake that way. Next time we will go the other way I think. So much to see and do! Check out the Split Rock Lighthouse and all the other lighthouses for sure. If you want to go to Isle Royale State Park, you need to book the ferry very early in the season. Lots of cool visitor centers and also More
