Loved Visiting with our Canadian Neighbors!

We left on June 19th and stayed in Houghton, MI, then off to Copper Harbor and stayed one night at the Dapple Gray B&B. On to Munising, MI where we stayed at the Pictured Rocks Inn, then to Sault Ste. Marie MI and the Best Western there. On to Canada and Wawa at the Mystic Isle Motel, Rossport, ON and the Willows B&B, then off to Grand Marais, MN and More

Everything Was Great!

Some of our favorites included: Favorite Dinner — Lockview in Sault Ste. Marie, MI (get the whitefish) Favorite Breakfast — Many Penny Bistro in Bayfied, WI. The Trans-Canada highway, especially Wawa was great. Our favorite hotel was the Holiday Inn Express in Munising, MI and Copper Peak in Ironwood, MI was scary, but worth it! Circle Tour Highlights

We traveled around the lake from June 4-11 and these were our highlights: Gooseberry Falls, the driving in the U.P. and Ontario, The Old Rittenhouse Inn, Apostle Islands Cruise, the fish fry at the Ramada in Hurley, Glensheen Mansion and staying at the South Pier Inn, in Duluth. Just Finished!

Everything was awesome, and the Lake Superior Travel Guide gave us tips about places we never would have known about — like the Hardware Store in Two Harbors that has everything. It really does. We loved all the lighthouses and the countryside in Canada. Wawa, of course. In Michigan we had our first pasty and it was really good! We also took a dip at Great Sand Bay in the More

Circumnavigating Gitchee Gumee

I just completed the circle tour on my motorcycle and had a very enjoyable time. I enjoyed the hospitality of our Canadian friends for several nights as well as the fine folks in Michigan. It was a bit chilly several mornings as I had already grown accustomed to our 90 degree days in Missouri. Fortunately, I was able to gear up and enjoy the ride. Those who are considering the More

Bucket List Trip

We left home in the Twin Cities on our 2018 Honda Goldwing doing the circle tour clockwise. Because we’ve been to Duluth many times, as well as Split Rock Lighthouse, Gooseberry Falls, etc. we didn’t stop at those places. We had a delicious lunch at The Rustic Inn in Castle Danger and continued on to Grand Marais, MN for the night. We don’t recommend staying at the Shoreline Motel, as More

Peaceful beauty

Starting in Duluth, MN we stopped at all the nearby waterfalls around the Lake. The views were serene and the water clear in its coldness. All the people here were friendly. We thank Lake Superior Magazine for the great tour guide they compose that greatly assisted our trip. Even saw one moose and one giant Canadian goose (Wawa, of course)!
