Lake Superior is HUGE!

We had many favorite spots but the one in Dorion in ON was special because we visited with my (Sue) brother there. We camped in Provincial Parks from Ottawa to Dorion, enjoying each and every one of them. Duluth was cool, as was Bayfield and the Apostle Islands Cruise we enjoyed. There was so much to see, we can’t choose a place that was our favorite spot! Sue & Les More

Advice for Travelers

We, a couple and a sister, traveled from July 14-28, 2015, in a 16-ft. Scamp trailer. The weather was great and we camped every night. Never made reservations ahead and always found a nice campsite, many sites directly on Lake Superior. Never used an electrical site. Camped in WI Municipal, MN State and National Forest, Ontario Provincial, MI National Forest, and State Forest campgrounds. Our favorite camping area was in More

Really Liked Duluth and Sault Ste. Marie

We just returned home from our Circle Tour around Lake Superior. We started out in Duluth on July 20 and arrived home in Illinois on July 28. We really liked Duluth and Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. We were very disappointed in the Lutsen Mountain area. In mid-summer they close the aerial tram ride 2 days a week, so we could not experience that. Their website does NOT say the ride is More

The View Is Amazing!

Completed the Tour on July 14, 2015. Did the whole circle in 12 days by motorcycle. Copper Harbor, Thunder Bay and Elliot Lake are the best places we have visited. Which way is the best way to travel the Circle Route – Clockwise or Counterclockwise? Doing the tour clockwise or counterclockwise is well worth it! Which part of the lake offered you the friendliest welcome? Elliot Lake, Ontario. We had More

A Wonderful Trip!

We did the Lake Superior Circle Tour from July 3-12, 2015. What an awesome trip! It is so hard to pick favorites. Loved the view of Split Rock Lighthouse from afar. Watching climbers at Palisades Cliffs. Grand Marais was a cute little town (great meal at The Angry Trout). We saw a bear on the Gunflint Trail. High Falls and Kakabeka Falls were just the beginning of many beautiful falls. More

Completed in Two Segments

We completed the Lake Superior Circle Tour a few weeks back. The details of our travels are as follows: In 2012, we travelled in our 26-foot Coach House Motor Home up the east coast and across the north to Michigan and up to Sault Ste. Marie. We stayed at the Soo Locks Campground on Aug. 1 for 3 nights. Next we headed to Tahquamenon Falls and then stayed at Gitchie More

Well Worth It

My family and I were visiting family in Minnesota and were told about the Circle Tour of Lake Superior. We took in the views and a couple of ships at the Twin Ports of Duluth and Superior. The Upper Peninsula of Michigan offers some great views of the lake. The Canadian side is just as good. Some nice places to stop along the way include Ouimet Canyon, Split Rock Lighthouse, More
