My son, Patrick, and I rode our motorcycles around Lake Superior in July of this year. He was living in Caledonia, Minnesota, and I live in Faribault, Minnesota. We met at Slippery’s in Wabasha, Minnesota, on the morning of July 10 and rode north to Grand Marais, Minnesota. We spent the night there at the Harbor House Inn and Pie Place Café and proceeded across the Canadian border around the lake to Wawa, Ontario, where we spent the night. The next day we continued around the lake and crossed over into the U.S. around noon. We rode to Munising, Michigan, and spent the night there. The next day we continued our trip around the lake until we reached Duluth, Minnesota.
There we spend our final night of the trip and celebrated our journey with a meal at Grandma’s in Canal Park. It was a great trip! The best part for me was to be able to ride and spend time with my son.
