We were on the Lake Superior Circle Tour September 10-18, 2012. We pulled our fifth wheels and traveled counterclockwise from Marquette, Michigan.
Sibley Peninsula, Sleeping Giant Provincial Park was our favorite camping place. A grey wolf ventured into our camp, but left in a hurry when we came outdoors.
Our least favorite camping place was Two Harbors, Minnesota, where they put our two fifth wheels into spots that were probably meant for tents. Don’t let the managers of Burlington Bay Campground give reservations for sites 4 and 5 to anyone with a trailer or fifth wheel. Needless to say we will not go back there.
The boat tour of the Apostle Islands at Bayfield, Wisconsin, was a highlight of the trip. The amethyst mine in Ontario was a fun place to visit, and in every city we encountered very nice, friendly people. Crossing the border both ways was simple, we had our passports and medical papers for our cats. All in all, it is a great scenic trip.
