The Entire Trip Was a Blast

We traveled clockwise around Lake Superior starting on September 3, 2012, and finishing on September 8.

We started in Northern Wisconsin, and took the Highway 13 loop to see Bayfield and the Apostle Islands. Stopped at several state parks on the north shore of Minnesota and camped at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. Spent three days in Canada, camping at Sleeping Giant, Neys and Lake Superior provincial parks. Also stopped at Ouimet Canyon Provincial Park and Pukaskwa National Park along our way. Stopped at the Soo Locks and camped in Pictured Rocks on our final night. Stocked up our cooler with a dozen pasties from the Upper Peninsula for the trip home.

The entire trip was a blast. Our favorite stops were Sleeping Giant (despite being terrorized by skunks), the Beach at Neys Provincial Park, the view of Old Woman Bay, hiking at Pukaskwa National Park and Pictured Rocks. We even saw a fantastic show of the Auroras while in Canada!
