I would like to join the Lake Superior Circle Tour Club. Both my wife and I decided to drive part way across Canada. But when looking at the maps we decided that we would drive around Lake Superior as part of this adventure. We only found out about your club when we were in Duluth. We live in Riverview, New Brunswick, and took 10 days to get to Sault Ste. Marie by way of Quebec City and Ottawa first.

We stayed at the KOA in Sault Ste. Marie for three days, doing a trip to Pancake Bay to see the location overlooking the area where the Edmund Fitzgerald was sunk. Did a tour of the Sault locks and the Sault Locks tour boat ride, walked the river walk. Really enjoyed the stay.

We crossed the International Bridge to the American side of the Soo and drove to the Ishpeming Country Village RV park and stayed there for three nights, touring the area around the Pictured Rocks to Presque isle. Just loved the Pictured Rocks and sandy beaches. Had some great smoked meats and fish from Northern Meats in Ishpeming. Had a great meal at the Red Lobster in Marquette. One small store we visited was Pickleman One-Stop in Newberry, which was a really interesting location. We made a stop at Lowes in Marquette and found the best customer service we have ever had anywhere.

Our next was in KOA Cloquet/Duluth. Really liked Duluth around the waterfront. We then proceeded to cross back into Canada and stayed at KOA Thunder Bay. Toured around the downtown and marina and looked at the grain elevators. Next we were off to Neys Campground at Marathon, Ontario. And then to KOA in Sturgeon Falls. We decided to tour into the small town of Red Rock just to get off the highway for a break.

While traveling from Thunder Bay to Sturgeon Falls we saw some gray wolves, black bears and cubs. Lots of deer and some moose. The hills to the west of Marathon were a surprise for their height and length, but we had no trouble. The American side was so flat, but this section of the Canadian side was the very opposite; both were very interesting in their own way. But each was so different. We would highly recommend this tour trip to anyone.
