Her parents were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in Bayfield, Wisconsin, so we decided to leave our home in Middleton, Wisconsin, five days early and go the “long way” to Bayfield, via Canada! We travelled from June 10-20, 2012. We particularly enjoyed the Apostle Islands, Pictured Rocks and Sleeping Giant. My husband was able to get some kayaking worked into the schedule in some very beautiful locales. We liked the remoteness of the drive, especially on the Canadian side. We love spotting wildlife that we don’t see in Indiana, and we weren’t disappointed. We saw moose, porcupine, bald eagle, bears and a wolf. More
We just completed the Circle Tour. We toured from June 14-22, 2012. We went Clockwise, through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, then Wisconsin, Minnesota and through Thunder Bay to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The mileage for the circle was 1,325 miles. Next time we will spend more time in the Nipigon/Red Rock area. I enjoyed the bush flying museum in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
