Wonderful

My wife and I have had the wonderful opportunity to tour around Lake Superior two times now on our motorcycles. Ouimet Canyon and Kakabeka Falls were just a couple of Canadian highlights and Whitefish Point and the myriad of waterfalls in the U.P. were excellent too. Of course living in Michigan’s U.P. makes me biased… We would like a certificate filled out for both of us, along with the window More

One of the Most Beautiful Places We’ve Ever Seen

We are very happy to inform you that we have completed the total Circle Tour this July/August. The trip began from our home in Bayfield, Wisconsin, on July 28, 2014 and ended there on Aug. 11, 2014. During the 14 days, we drove 1,673 miles and saw one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever seen in all of our world travels. What made it so special was that not More

Really Enjoyed the Trip

My wife and I just completed the Circle Tour of Lake Superior. Almost 3,500 miles of driving from our home in Kansas City to Duluth, Minnesota, where we began the tour. We really enjoyed the trip immensely and here are some highlights: We visited the Fairlawn and Glensheen homes in Duluth as well as tried out some local food from Clyde’s and Pickwick. We traveled the North Shore, stopping at More

So Much to Explore

We finished June 28 with the International Bridge Walk at the twin Saults and the Engineers day at the Soo Locks. Favorite places include Lake of the Clouds, Whitefish Point, Pictured Rocks, Apostle Islands, Minnesota’s north shore, amethyst mines, Kakabeka Falls and Gooseberry Falls. So much to explore, so little time! Our not-so-favorite was the major detour (4 hours) caused by one bridge being washed out! Ann & Paul Heilborn, More

All in All, a Super Trip

We left Duluth on June 12 towing our camper and two dogs. First stop was Cascade River State Park just south of Grand Marais, MN. Nice park but no electrical hook ups. Next was Marie Louise Lake Campground in Sleeping Giant Provincial Park. Again, a nice park however the electrical hook up was quite a way away from our camper so we ended up “renting” a power cord for $100. More

The Magic of a Colorful Autumn Circle Drive

On October 23, 2013, my family completed the Circle Tour of Lake Superior. We had so many favorite spots and experiences, but the best include seeing the many waterfalls along the tour (I had no idea there would be so many!), eating at Tycoon’s in Duluth (great Whitefish), Dunc Lake near White River, Ontario, provided a great sunset while we stayed at Gloria’s Motel (which had a beautiful view of More

Enjoyed Every Minute

My wife and I, accompanied by our dog, Tyler, did the Circle Tour from September 4 through September 14, 2013, and enjoyed every minute of it. Highlights for us included the High Falls on the Pigeon River, Kakabeka Falls, Fort William Historical Park, Ouimet Canyon, gourmet dining, including a fabulous dessert, at the Serendipity Gardens Café in Rossport, Aguasabon Falls and Canyon, another fantastic dinner at Kinniwabi International Cuisine in More

Two Seniors in a Sporty Car

Hi, my friend Pat Eichler (from Florida) and I (from Wisconsin) finished the Lake Superior Circle Tour on August 7, 2013. We took my 2002 Chrysler Sebring Convertible to do the tour, and we had a fabulous time – two senior citizens in a sporty car on an adventure! We loved stopping at the many lake overviews on Hwy. 61 north of Duluth, MN, and the various waterfalls along the More

Wished We Had More Time

We began our trip around Lake Superior on Thursday, July 25, 2013, and completed our circumvention of Lake Superior on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013. We traveled clockwise beginning in Two Harbors, MN. The border crossing agent told us at the Pigeon River border crossing that we were hitting Ontario during their coldest week that summer. We had rain and cold temps through quite a bit of our trip through Ontario. More
