Put It on Your Bucket List

We started out in Minnesota on July 11, 2014, and stopped at Gooseberry Falls for some pictures and a break. We then proceeded to Thunder Bay, Ontario, and stayed in a hotel for the evening. We took lots of pictures along the way. And the scenery was great. The next day we went to an amethyst mine and purchased a couple of items which is nice and got some more pictures. More

Never Disappointed

For my birthday this year, my husband treated me to a trip around Lake Superior. On September 25 we left Thunder Bay and drove to Wawa where we stayed the night. The next day we carried on to Sault Ste. Marie (spectacular drive). We took the Agawa Canyon Train Tour on the 27th and drove on to Houghton, Michigan, on the 28th. On the 29th we toured the picturesque Keweenaw More

My Favorite Experiences

I recently traveled by car clockwise around Lake Superior from September 15-21, 2013, starting in Duluth, Minnesota. Some of my favorite experiences along the way are: watching waves crash at Stoney Point, Minnesota, Kakabeka Falls, the incredible views at Thunder Bay Lookout and Kama Bay, Carden Cove and Pebble Beach in Marathon, Ontario, Magpie High Falls at Wawa, Ontario, and enjoying a rainbow over Copper Harbor, Michigan. But a highlight More

A Wonderful Vacation

Hello from Paul and Phyllis in the state of Delaware. We have just completed the Circle Tour with the help of your guide which we couldn’t have done without. We can make the following comments to help with your guide: The Inn on Lake Superior was great – good location, bicycles to borrow and even s’mores in the evening. Fitger’s was great for dinner and Zeitgeist was, too. The Northern More

We Loved All of It

We have just completed our first circle tour of Lake Superior. It has been in two parts. Summer 2012: we traveled in Michigan from Sault Ste. Marie to Copper Harbor, over a period of about 8 days. We (wife, Karen, and our 90# flat-coat retriever named Jake) were camping along the way except in Copper Harbor, when we stayed in the King Copper Motel. We loved all of it … More

Enjoyed Every Minute

My wife and I, accompanied by our dog, Tyler, did the Circle Tour from September 4 through September 14, 2013, and enjoyed every minute of it. Highlights for us included the High Falls on the Pigeon River, Kakabeka Falls, Fort William Historical Park, Ouimet Canyon, gourmet dining, including a fabulous dessert, at the Serendipity Gardens Café in Rossport, Aguasabon Falls and Canyon, another fantastic dinner at Kinniwabi International Cuisine in More

An Excellent Trip

My husband and I completed the Circle Tour September 7-14, 2013. We started from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan (where we live), and went clockwise around the Lake. (Several years ago we started from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and went counterclockwise as far as Terrace Bay, Ontario, but didn’t have time to go all the way.) The trip this month was a fulfillment of a years-long desire. We started off in More

Will Definitely Do It Again

We did the circle tour; left in August and spent three nights in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. We drove there from Superior, Wisconsin, in one day. The next day we did the 8-hour train ride to and from the Agawa Canyon. The third day we spent noodling the city. Then we traveled on to Marathon, Ontario; spent the night and noodled the city sights. Next morning we traveled back home, More
