Camp, Kayak and Golf…

We began our trip at Pictured Rocks with a day of hiking and a late afternoon of kayaking at dusk on Kingston Lake. The next day we golfed in Brimley overlooking the lake and the “1,000 footers.” We camped in “The Soo” to the pleasant sounds of ship horns heading into and out of the locks. After a morning of more ship viewing and stocking up on provisions, we had More

Great Scenery

My husband and I have been to Lake Superior five times, beginning in September 2005. During that trip with my brother and sister-in-law, we stayed in Michigan, visiting Sault Ste. Marie, Tahquamenon Falls, Munising and Copper Harbor among other places. We especially enjoyed going through the locks in Sault Ste. Marie and the boat ride to see Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Out time was limited, so we were able to More

Joining the Circle Tour Club

Hi, I would like to get a Circle Tour sticker and certificate for my wife and myself. We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary by circling Superior clockwise Sept. 7-14. Our daughter moved to Duluth several years ago. She got me to subscribe to your wonderful magazine and I used it extensively in planning out the trip. Our plan was to see as many waterfalls as we could and also many More

Circuit Completed

My husband and I embarked on the circle tour on Aug. 2 (Tuesday) and completed it on Aug. 13 (Saturday) with a thoroughly enjoyable amble around the Lake by car. Favorites included: Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock Lighthouse, Fort William, the Kinniwabi Pines Restaurant in Wawa, the Soo Locks at Sault Ste. Will Make the Drive Again

Excellent. We made the trip after Labor Day, no crowds, no lines, no problems with motels and restaurants. Stayed at small mom-and-pop type motels, very nice, brought back memories of doing that as young child in the ’60s. Loved the Soo Locks. Loved the Canadian shoreline and beaches, they had everything from woods, sandy beaches, small pebbles to large boulders. Great trip. Bob and TC Bailey, Clam Lake, WI

Overlooks at Pukaskwa Were the Best in the Whole Trip

My wife and I recently finished the Lake Superior Circle Tour for our Honeymoon on July 7 and we would like to receive our certificates from your organization. Our favorite spots to visit were in Michigan and Canada. The Michigan stops included Krupp’s Resort in Michigan where they served Blue Moon ice cream (my personal favorite) and the Keweenaw Peninsula where the driving was beautiful. We also enjoyed watching the More

So Much to Explore

We finished June 28 with the International Bridge Walk at the twin Saults and the Engineers day at the Soo Locks. Favorite places include Lake of the Clouds, Whitefish Point, Pictured Rocks, Apostle Islands, Minnesota’s north shore, amethyst mines, Kakabeka Falls and Gooseberry Falls. So much to explore, so little time! Our not-so-favorite was the major detour (4 hours) caused by one bridge being washed out! Ann & Paul Heilborn, More

So Beautiful

We left Mankato, Minnesota, on September 1 to do the Lake Superior Circle Tour counterclockwise. Going to Ashland first and continuing on from there, it was so beautiful. We put on 2,809 miles on our truck pulling our travel trailer. Our favorite among the many was Sault Ste. Marie and watching all the ships coming and going. There are so many places to see, we would love to go back More
