Our Lake Superior Circle Camping Trip

We began in Toronto, north to Algonquin Provincial Park on July 13, then to Killarney Provincial Park (strictly speaking Georgian Bay, but gorgeous), past Sault Ste. Marie to Rabbit Blanket campground in Lake Superior Provincial Park. Absolutely fantastic sights and great hiking! And between the thunderstorms the weather was brilliant! Next we camped at Pukaskwa National Park for wild and beautiful vistas. Bald eagles on a tree over our tent More

Loved It All

Started the trip Sept. 10 and ended the trip Sept.19. Spent nine days driving around the lake. We drove a little over 1,600 miles with the side trips. Loved it all. It was like three different scenic areas. The first one was the Minnesota north shore. Been there several times in the past, but never been past Grand Marais before. The second area was past Thunder Bay. It was just a More

A Very Enjoyable Trip

My son, mother and I took the Lake Superior Circle Tour in August 2015. It was a very enjoyable trip. Our favorites were Duluth, Copper Harbor, Pictured Rocks, Ouimet Canyon, Sleeping Giant, and so many more places. Lots of waterfalls, and they were all so beautiful. My 19-year-old son did all of the planning using the Lake Superior Travel Guide and the Lake Superior, The Ultimate Guide to the Region. More

A Wonderful Trip!

We did the Lake Superior Circle Tour from July 3-12, 2015. What an awesome trip! It is so hard to pick favorites. Loved the view of Split Rock Lighthouse from afar. Watching climbers at Palisades Cliffs. Grand Marais was a cute little town (great meal at The Angry Trout). We saw a bear on the Gunflint Trail. High Falls and Kakabeka Falls were just the beginning of many beautiful falls. More

Highly Recommend It

We arrived in Duluth on June 21 and returned on July 5 after going clockwise around the lake. My dad had been on several mine tours before but thought the Soudan Underground Mine’s was the best he had seen. He was also impressed with Quincy’s. We had beautiful weather so we were really able to enjoy the shore views and waterfalls. I really enjoyed discovering the various views of Split More

I’m Sure We Will Be Coming Back

Four friends and I just completed the LSCT at the end of August. Seven great days of riding with pretty good weather, although it was very windy. Three of us were from Indiana and two from the Detroit area. We all met in Gaylord, MI and set out from there on a counterclockwise tour of the lake. We put on a total of 2,250 miles on two Harleys and three Hondas. More

We Loved It

My husband (Ron Simmons) and I completed the Circle Tour during the dates of Aug. 16-25, 2014. We stayed at and enjoyed Sleeping Giant Provincial Park and Rainbow Falls Provincial Park. We day-hiked Ouimet Canyon walked the longest suspension bridge in Canada in that same area. Next trip, we will zip-line at that same location. At Rainbow Falls, we saw a large, healthy grey wolf. Our Golden Retriever (Sally) was More

Very Enjoyable

We took the Lake Superior Circle Tour Aug. 6-17, driving counterclockwise. The drive was very enjoyable. The one disappointment we had was not being able to stop for the night when we wanted to. Prior to the trip I started checking on line for lodging accommodations and was surprised to find very limited options. Therefore I did make arrangements prior to leaving home. Due to the limited availability of accommodations More
