Wonder adventure

We took our time, sixteen days in total. We drove from Battle Creek, Michigan to Mackinaw City on our first day and then crossed the big bridge and drove into Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario and to Batchawana Bay on the 2nd day. The Superior Provincial Park was gorgeous, particularly the Sand River waterfalls. Our next stop was Rossport where we stayed at a lovely B & B called The Willows. More

A Trip We Will Never Forget

We’d like to join the Lake Superior Circle Tour Club! On Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, my husband and I left California to start a 7,800 mile road trip, with the highlight being circling Lake Superior, the only Great Lake we hadn’t seen. We arrived in Duluth on Tuesday. Sept 13. Our first stop was the Lake Superior Outlet Store where we bought the Lake Superior Travel Guide and the Lake More

Our Tour

My sister and I celebrated our June birthdays this year by driving around this beautiful lake (she is 66 and I am 75 years old). We drove clockwise and took eight days, and we should have taken more time because we missed a lot. We really loved the Keweenaw Peninsula and would love to go back in the fall to Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor. Some of the high notes More

Loved It All

Started the trip Sept. 10 and ended the trip Sept.19. Spent nine days driving around the lake. We drove a little over 1,600 miles with the side trips. Loved it all. It was like three different scenic areas. The first one was the Minnesota north shore. Been there several times in the past, but never been past Grand Marais before. The second area was past Thunder Bay. It was just a More

Highly Recommend It

We arrived in Duluth on June 21 and returned on July 5 after going clockwise around the lake. My dad had been on several mine tours before but thought the Soudan Underground Mine’s was the best he had seen. He was also impressed with Quincy’s. We had beautiful weather so we were really able to enjoy the shore views and waterfalls. I really enjoyed discovering the various views of Split More

Some Highlights

Some highlights: Red Rock, south of Nipigon, ON; scenery in the Pancake Bay area; Kakabeka Falls has a great farm store; saw two moose by Marathon; ate at Bight in Thunder Bay. Favorite thing to do: The Pictured Rocks cruise! Even when the weather wasn’t that great – it was terrific! Tip: bring a 200-foot extension cord with you to the provincial park campsites. You’ll need it! Kay Osborne, St. More

It Was an Awesome Trip!

We would like to join the Circle Tour Club! We left St. Louis, Missouri, on June 22 and just returned home today on July 5. We drove almost exactly 3,000 miles and our stops were: Porcupine Mountains: two nights, camped, hiked. Munising: three nights, stayed in a rental property. Pictured Rocks cruise, waterfalls, bikes on Grand Island. Pancake Bay Provincial Park: three nights, stayed in yurts on beach, great fishing. More

Enjoyed Every Minute

My wife and I, accompanied by our dog, Tyler, did the Circle Tour from September 4 through September 14, 2013, and enjoyed every minute of it. Highlights for us included the High Falls on the Pigeon River, Kakabeka Falls, Fort William Historical Park, Ouimet Canyon, gourmet dining, including a fabulous dessert, at the Serendipity Gardens Café in Rossport, Aguasabon Falls and Canyon, another fantastic dinner at Kinniwabi International Cuisine in More

Two Seniors in a Sporty Car

Hi, my friend Pat Eichler (from Florida) and I (from Wisconsin) finished the Lake Superior Circle Tour on August 7, 2013. We took my 2002 Chrysler Sebring Convertible to do the tour, and we had a fabulous time – two senior citizens in a sporty car on an adventure! We loved stopping at the many lake overviews on Hwy. 61 north of Duluth, MN, and the various waterfalls along the More
