Spectacular Beauty

After talking about it for years, my husband, Terry, and I finally decided to do the tour. We started out on Sunday afternoon, June 12, from Duluth, and did the tour clockwise. We ended the tour a week later in Duluth on Sunday, June 19. We followed Midwest Living Magazine’s suggested day-by-day route. (We weren’t aware of your magazine’s publication on the route until we were in Grand Marais a More

Loved It All

Started the trip Sept. 10 and ended the trip Sept.19. Spent nine days driving around the lake. We drove a little over 1,600 miles with the side trips. Loved it all. It was like three different scenic areas. The first one was the Minnesota north shore. Been there several times in the past, but never been past Grand Marais before. The second area was past Thunder Bay. It was just a More

Will Make the Drive Again

Excellent. We made the trip after Labor Day, no crowds, no lines, no problems with motels and restaurants. Stayed at small mom-and-pop type motels, very nice, brought back memories of doing that as young child in the ’60s. Loved the Soo Locks. Loved the Canadian shoreline and beaches, they had everything from woods, sandy beaches, small pebbles to large boulders. Great trip. Bob and TC Bailey, Clam Lake, WI

Best Trip Ever

My buddy and I just completed the Circle Tour on Friday, Aug. 21, 2015. Started in Duluth and went clockwise, ended in Duluth. Took us four days! Best trip ever, even though it rained continually for 3 of our 4-day trip. Our favorite spots had to be all along the north coastline past Thunder Bay and heading towards Sault Ste. Marie. Beautiful even in a rain storm! Wawa had one More

The View Is Amazing!

Completed the Tour on July 14, 2015. Did the whole circle in 12 days by motorcycle. Copper Harbor, Thunder Bay and Elliot Lake are the best places we have visited. Which way is the best way to travel the Circle Route – Clockwise or Counterclockwise? Doing the tour clockwise or counterclockwise is well worth it! Which part of the lake offered you the friendliest welcome? Elliot Lake, Ontario. We had More

Well Worth It

My family and I were visiting family in Minnesota and were told about the Circle Tour of Lake Superior. We took in the views and a couple of ships at the Twin Ports of Duluth and Superior. The Upper Peninsula of Michigan offers some great views of the lake. The Canadian side is just as good. Some nice places to stop along the way include Ouimet Canyon, Split Rock Lighthouse, More

Started in Duluth

I started the Circle Tour June 18, 2015 in Duluth and finished June 25. I drove clockwise. Next time I will take more time. I drove a Mazda Miata, and was only able to have the top down for about half of the trip due to rain. I especially enjoyed the stretch between Nipigon and Sault Ste. Marie. Another trip I’ll spend more time in Copper Harbor and Wawa. Pebble More
