We flew in and out of Minneapolis, rented a car and started the tour in Duluth, MN. We arrived in Duluth on Sept. 19 and spent two nights there, drove clockwise and ended up completing the tour on Sept. 30. One of Our Favorite Vacations

My husband and I completed the 1,300-mile circle tour in September this year. We both agree it was one of our favorite vacations ever. We took nine days but feel we could have have taken two weeks to have more time to enjoy some of the attractions. We started in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, spending our first night at the Best Northern Motel in Wawa with dinner at the Kinniwabi Pines More

Joining the Circle Tour Club

Hi, I would like to get a Circle Tour sticker and certificate for my wife and myself. We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary by circling Superior clockwise Sept. 7-14. Our daughter moved to Duluth several years ago. She got me to subscribe to your wonderful magazine and I used it extensively in planning out the trip. Our plan was to see as many waterfalls as we could and also many More

Distance Traveled: 3,748 kilometers. Do it in your corvette; do it on your motorcycle; do it in your tin car or pick-up truck. It doesn’t matter how you travel this route, just do it! You will see interesting sights, spectacular scenery and the real beauty of the Canadian North. On Aug. 10, John and I in our Altima and BFF Betty in her Mercedes headed out on a trip of More

Best Motorcycle Trip I’ve Been On

Our Circle Tour trip ended on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016. The beauty of nature from Duluth to Thunder Bay to Nipigon, to Wawa, to Sault Ste. Marie was absolutely beautiful motorcycling. The roads and weather were great. We stopped at Eagle Canyon Adventures in Dorion and walked the two suspension footbridges. Old Woman Bay in the Lake Superior Provincial Park, Wawa was my favorite stop. We also visited the Canadian More

We Were in Total Awe

We ended our Circle Tour trip on July 22, 2016. Our nights staying at Quebec Lodge in Red Rock, Lutsen Lodge and various waterfall viewing was great. We were in total awe at the massive size of Lake Superior and the ruggedness, beauty and the power of its being a gift for all to see. P.S. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary while on our tour. A great present to More

Our Tour

My sister and I celebrated our June birthdays this year by driving around this beautiful lake (she is 66 and I am 75 years old). We drove clockwise and took eight days, and we should have taken more time because we missed a lot. We really loved the Keweenaw Peninsula and would love to go back in the fall to Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor. Some of the high notes More

Will Make the Drive Again

Excellent. We made the trip after Labor Day, no crowds, no lines, no problems with motels and restaurants. Stayed at small mom-and-pop type motels, very nice, brought back memories of doing that as young child in the ’60s. Loved the Soo Locks. Loved the Canadian shoreline and beaches, they had everything from woods, sandy beaches, small pebbles to large boulders. Great trip. Bob and TC Bailey, Clam Lake, WI

A Wonderful Trip!

We did the Lake Superior Circle Tour from July 3-12, 2015. What an awesome trip! It is so hard to pick favorites. Loved the view of Split Rock Lighthouse from afar. Watching climbers at Palisades Cliffs. Grand Marais was a cute little town (great meal at The Angry Trout). We saw a bear on the Gunflint Trail. High Falls and Kakabeka Falls were just the beginning of many beautiful falls. More
