Started in Duluth

I started the Circle Tour June 18, 2015 in Duluth and finished June 25. I drove clockwise. Next time I will take more time. I drove a Mazda Miata, and was only able to have the top down for about half of the trip due to rain. I especially enjoyed the stretch between Nipigon and Sault Ste. Marie. Another trip I’ll spend more time in Copper Harbor and Wawa. Pebble More

A Lovely Trip

Hello from Morgantown, West Virginia. My husband and I have made our way safely home after completing the Circle Tour. We started June 1 with a long day of driving to reach Sault Ste. Marie, MI. From there we moved clockwise across the UP to reach Duluth on Sunday, June 7. My husband had a business meeting in the Holiday Centre through mid-day Thursday, June 11, when we resumed our More

It Was a Positive Trip by Motorcycle

I departed Sault Ste. Marie, Canada, crossing the border into Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, at 7 a.m. on Aug. 19, 2014. I chose to travel in a clockwise manner because I had done the northern portion from Thunder Bay to Sault numerous times and wanted to see the southern shores of Lake Superior. I thoroughly enjoyed the travel when the road was closest to the water. The high points of More

One of the Most Beautiful Places We’ve Ever Seen

We are very happy to inform you that we have completed the total Circle Tour this July/August. The trip began from our home in Bayfield, Wisconsin, on July 28, 2014 and ended there on Aug. 11, 2014. During the 14 days, we drove 1,673 miles and saw one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever seen in all of our world travels. What made it so special was that not More

Best Vacation I’ve Had!

A group of 13 (seven bikes and one car) completed the tour going clockwise in six days (July 20-25, 2014). Best vacation I’ve had! Too many highlights to name. Everyone that went would do it again and maybe counterclockwise next time. Would love to be a part of the club. Joel & Sherri Gulbranson, Ham Lake, MN

Really Enjoyed the Trip

My wife and I just completed the Circle Tour of Lake Superior. Almost 3,500 miles of driving from our home in Kansas City to Duluth, Minnesota, where we began the tour. We really enjoyed the trip immensely and here are some highlights: We visited the Fairlawn and Glensheen homes in Duluth as well as tried out some local food from Clyde’s and Pickwick. We traveled the North Shore, stopping at More

Camped Most of the Way

We recently completed the Circle Tour for the second time! We were gone for 9 days, 8 nights and camped most of the way around the lake. Our trip was June 28-July 6, 2014, and we went clockwise around the lake starting and ending in Canal Park. Our favorite campground was Neys Provincial Park. We love the UP but Duluth and Minnesota’s North Shore will always be our favorite destination around More

Riding Around the Lake

My brother and I recently completed the Lake Superior Circle Tour this season. We spent June 20-23, 2014, traveling clockwise around the lake. I was on a 2006 Yamaha FZ6 and he rode a 2003 Honda ST 1100. As far as motorcycle riding goes, a full rain suit is a must, along with a few different tints of safety glasses, earplugs and gloves with extended cuffs. When crossing the border More

Had a Great Time

Just got back from our Circle Tour trip. Started on June 16, and had a great time. We left Ashland, WI and took the clockwise route up through Thunder Bay and over to the Soo Locks, etc. One of the places we had a great time was the Hungry Moose Restaurant and Motel. It is located on Hwy. 17 at Rongie Lake. The food was excellent and the owners, Chris More
