Our Circle Tour

My husband Chris and I did the Circle Tour the first week in October 2016. Nine days and eight nights. We started in Sault, MI, where we live and traveled west. Temps were in the 60s for perfect hiking and outdoor adventures. Things that impressed us: the murals on the buildings in Ashland, WI; the waterfront in Duluth and the size of the massive harbor where 1,000′ freighters could “get More

Riding Around the Lake

My brother and I recently completed the Lake Superior Circle Tour this season. We spent June 20-23, 2014, traveling clockwise around the lake. I was on a 2006 Yamaha FZ6 and he rode a 2003 Honda ST 1100. As far as motorcycle riding goes, a full rain suit is a must, along with a few different tints of safety glasses, earplugs and gloves with extended cuffs. When crossing the border More

A Perfect Tour

We took our trip beginning May 31 arrived home on June 7, 2014. We started out in Superior, Wisconsin for a trip to the Anchor Bar for hamburger (which we found as good as advertised). We had left home in Shoreview, MN about 8 a.m., and had driven in rain all day. I kept saying I don’t think it can rain any harder, and it did. When we arrived in More

So Beautiful

We left Mankato, Minnesota, on September 1 to do the Lake Superior Circle Tour counterclockwise. Going to Ashland first and continuing on from there, it was so beautiful. We put on 2,809 miles on our truck pulling our travel trailer. Our favorite among the many was Sault Ste. Marie and watching all the ships coming and going. There are so many places to see, we would love to go back More

A Wonderful Vacation

Hello from Paul and Phyllis in the state of Delaware. We have just completed the Circle Tour with the help of your guide which we couldn’t have done without. We can make the following comments to help with your guide: The Inn on Lake Superior was great – good location, bicycles to borrow and even s’mores in the evening. Fitger’s was great for dinner and Zeitgeist was, too. The Northern More

A Very Beautiful Trip

We really enjoy your magazine and this year we did the Circle Tour, something we’ve been going to do for a long time! So we decided to go clockwise, starting in Michigan. We tent camped most of the way and stayed with friends in Ashland, Wisconsin. We had our kayaks along and our friends had their canoe. We met interesting people in every place we stopped! We started on August More

Beautiful Ride

What a beautiful ride! Will do the trip again! In August 1988, we decided to circle Lake Superior a few months after our wedding. We took our old rusty Cavalier, spent over a week, taking our time, and camping along the lakeshore. In July 2013, we decided to circle the great lake again, as part of our 25th anniversary tours. This time we did it on motorcycles. In an earlier More

We Did It!

Dear Circle Tour Club: WE DID IT! My girlfriend and I finally did the Lake Superior Circle Tour! On June 12, we left Dayton and returned on June 20. We started the tour at Sault Ste. Marie, watching 2 freighters in the locks – one going east and one going west. We then crossed the International Bridge and stopped at the Visitor’s Center to exchange money (and to get a More
