Circling the Pond

This is our first long adventure with our “new” Little Guy teardrop-style camper. We enjoyed being off the ground, dry and warm during the mostly damp days of June 24 – July 7. Our major interests were fly fishing, canoeing and finding EarthCaches, but the tour guide led us to other treasures including many well-done visitor center displays. Our tour began in Grand Marais, Minnesota, where we spent two nights at More

We Love Lake Superior!

We just got home from completing the Circle Tour. We along with our two best friends decided this would be a great ride on our Gold Wings. The weather was pleasantly chilly which was a change from Arkansas’ hot weather. As we were planning for cold we did not even think about mosquitoes. At Whitefish Point, one of our favorite stops, along with staying in a lighthouse, they have man-eating More

A Great Trip!

I, along with my husband Kurt and two of our friends, rode the Circle Tour on Honda Gold Wing motorcycles. It was a lot of fun, as well as educational! Favorite spots include Whitefish Point, Michigan, which has a still-functioning lighthouse. It is close to the site where the Edmund Fitzgerald went down in a storm on November 10, 1975, with none of the crew surviving. The Great Lakes Shipwreck More

Father-Son Retirement Celebration Ride

After my Dad retired, he wanted to do something crazy, so he asked me to bike around the Lake with him. Neither of us had bike-packing experience, but our local bike shop helped us gear up. The trip was great! We biked an average of 65 miles a day, camped at campgrounds and stayed in hotels. We went clockwise around the Lake starting and ending in Duluth. David Massey, Minneapolis, More

Wet but Fun!

The Canadian portion of our tour was brought with mist or rain, we never saw the sun the five days we were there. We were lucky in that whenever we stopped to hike or tour the rain turned to a tolerable mist! After we reached home and reflected on our trip we both realized what a great trip it was despite the weather. We anticipate doing the tour again next More
