My Favorite Parts

My favorite parts were: Staying at the B&B at the Whitefish Point Shipwreck Museum; Pictured Rocks – hiking after the boat cruise cancelled due to fog; the B&B on the beach in Rossport, Ontario; the Voyageur Lodge in Batchawana Bay, Ontario; Madeline Island, Wisconsin. Advice to Others

Went on the Circle Tour July 14th through July 22nd. The best things were: the people along the way and the Pictured Rocks Boat Tour. The worst is: the Travel Guide is tattered! Best damn thing! Advice to others: Add a day or pick a day and SIT and DO NOTHING. We wish we had instead of go, go, go. James & Pat Anderson, Brainerd, Minnesota

Beautiful Ride

What a beautiful ride! Will do the trip again! In August 1988, we decided to circle Lake Superior a few months after our wedding. We took our old rusty Cavalier, spent over a week, taking our time, and camping along the lakeshore. In July 2013, we decided to circle the great lake again, as part of our 25th anniversary tours. This time we did it on motorcycles. In an earlier More

It Was a Great Trip

My son, Patrick, and I rode our motorcycles around Lake Superior in July of this year. He was living in Caledonia, Minnesota, and I live in Faribault, Minnesota. We met at Slippery’s in Wabasha, Minnesota, on the morning of July 10 and rode north to Grand Marais, Minnesota. We spent the night there at the Harbor House Inn and Pie Place Café and proceeded across the Canadian border around the More

Our Trip Around Lake Superior

Starting on July 2, 2013, my husband and I made the trip around Lake Superior. Starting from Milford, Michigan, we entered Canada at Sault Ste. Marie. We spent the first two nights at Lake Superior Provincial Park, tent camping at the Agawa Bay campground. We loved the quiet, no-radio sites, hiking to the waterfalls on the Sand River and seeing the pictographs at Agawa Rock. From there we drove to More

Our Best Experiences

We recently completed the Lake Superior Circle Tour by car as a married couple. June 18 through June 26 were the dates, start to finish, of our adventure. Our best experiences were as follows: The Pictured Rocks Cruise at Munising, Michigan. The mineral-stained cliffs were awe-inspiring with Mother Nature at her best! The boat tour provided us with up-close views at eye level as well as a verbal geological lesson More

Finished the Circle

My wife and I finished the circle of Lake Superior on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 3 p.m. (EDT). We started out on June 29, going westbound via Duluth, Minnesota, traveling in our Monaco Signature motor coach. Grand Marais, Grand Portage, Thunder Bay, the Sibley Peninsula, Rossport, Marathon, Wawa and to the Soo, Whitefish Point, Munising and home in Marquette. Dar and Becca Kuehl, Marquette, Michigan

We Loved the Trip

Our family recently completed a Circle Tour of Lake Superior. The dates of our trip were June 23-July 4, 2013. Since we were already familiar with Duluth and the North Shore, we decided to start at Duluth following a counterclockwise loop. We enjoyed going this way, except for our guidebook listed things in the opposite order, which made some directions a little harder to follow. We loved the trip and More

Favorites

We have completed the Circle Tour on July 4th, and wondered if there is a sticker (like you see on the back of cars) that proclaims such a feat? Favorites: Split Rock Lighthouse, Two Harbors, Minnesota, Serendipity Gardens Café, Rossport, Ontario, and “Pebble Beach” in Marathon, Ontario. Dan & Susan Orndoff, Duluth, Georgia
